Death Race
Who’s that fool driving up my ass?
Gotta be a fortune to top it off with gas.
Light weight truck, is yours bigger?
Slow down brother, take your finger off the trigger.
Curled in the gutter, you’re so high.
Isn’t your roof gonna kiss the sky?
Have to pull over, let you pass by,
You are mighty, I’m a little guy.
Urban sprawl, rush hour madness,
All the rage won’t cure the sadness.
Lean on the horn, flash the lights,
Crowd the driver, speed out of sight.
Death race on the road today.
Hope I see another day.
Angel of mercy steer me away.
Death race on the street today.

Boomerang
Day job’s done and now I’m free,
Time to usher in possibility.
Slightly older, feeling spry,
Still some things that I’ll have to try.
No spoiler left to tell me no,
Only I to urge me go.
No blueprint drawn to steer the way,
No rulebook writ to aim the play.
So many people are so constrained,
Stay the path is so engrained.
Arc me through the swinging door,
Sweep me from the killing floor.
It’s often said, change is good.
All will cycle, that’s understood.
Nothing slows the march of time.
And, I’ve yet to yield my prime.

Big Time
You have no memory of those painful days.
Hours seemed eternal,
The suffering had no end.
You have no memory of solitary nights,
There was nowhere to go,
Oooh, nothing to see.
You have no memory of the time
When darkness stole your light,
Heart shrunken by the pain.
Every inch of your flesh,
Every part of your heart.
See what you feel
By the look in your eyes.
You have a place where
Love always remains.
See what you feel
By the look in your eyes.
No recall of grief,
Nor memory of sadness.
Cause today you are here,
Today you are mine.
Cause today you have wings,
Today you can fly.
Cause today you can live,
Big time, big time, big time, big time.
